How do I tell?

Question Posted Monday September 18 2006, 8:37 pm

Is there anyway I can tell if I've broken my hymen? I remember a few years ago I was jumping over something and I felt this horrible pain in my vagina then I was bleeding for a while afterwards.

So is there anyway of me knowing if that was it breaking without going to the doctors?

A doctor can tell, but it is not a big deal if you have. Many virgins have a broken hymen due to non-sexual activity or injury. It does not mean that you are not a virgin, so as long as you are not in pain and everything returns to normal you don't need to worry. If there is any indictation of injury, pain, or infection, it would be a good idea to see a doctor.
