Bleeding after fingering

Question Posted Sunday September 17 2006, 7:47 pm

My boyfriend and I used to have no problems with fingering, etc.. However, everytime he fingers me now (I'd say it's been occuring for a month).. I start to bleed. Sometimes there will be slight irritation afterwords, but while he does it - it doesn't hurt at all. The blood is sometimes bright red, sometimes brown. We're both virgins.

We've discussed it and we think it might just be that his fingernails have caused little cuts and abrasions - and we aren't allowing enough time for them to heal.

While he says that my health is more important to him then messing around, it's still really embarrassing for me and a downer for both of us ( we can't really finish).

His finger nails aren't long. And he has really long fingers- although they aren't very big. .

Dont worry about a thing, im 20 years old and well i started having sex at 16 i had neever bleed during sex ,fingering or anything but a couple of weeks ago i was having sex with my long term boyfriend and as soon as we stooped he decided to finger me.. now my boyfriend has pretty big fingers and he has put 4 fingers in me and started going super hard and stuff but as soon as i turned my head his hand was full of blood everywhere i was so embarresed i started crying but he made it feel very natural he was understanding i thought it was because i was getting my period but reallly it was because he had broken my hymen ...The hymen is a piece of tissue that, during development, blocks some or all of the entrance to the vagina. It exists in many species, and scientists have no real understanding of its purpose in humans. in short term its basically your virginity... and some of you might say.. but ive already had sex how could it bleed... well it could very be so that your hymen was never reeally broken but he had torn it even mmore witch causses the vagina to bleed heavil or even lightly... breaking your hymen is fine... it wont hurt you when you have sex anymore its not a big deal so dont worry about it

this could be from many things, i'll just list a couple though.
maybe the first time this happened, he had started fingering you when you weren't probably "wet" which caused his dry fingers to rub against your dry area, and its possible that if he has big fingers, he's ripped your skin. which can be ripped again & again(explaining the constant bleeding, everytime you were fingered) but if you give it time to heal it should be all right.
or your theory could be right, if he has long finger nails, tell him to keep them short. and just make sure he knows to be careful next time.
just be careful not to get these 'cuts' infected, it could lead to serious problems, but my best advice, is if after a couple weeks, you guys try it again, and you still bleed, go to see a doctor.
i hope i helped.

If he doesn't keep his fingernails at a reasonable length, then obviously that could be a problem. And I'm betting that's all it is, or atleast sounds like it. Have him cut his nails, and try not to do it as often as you are [if you're doing it everyday, try every other day etc.]And maybe have him ease up a little, don't do it the sameway/same place the whole time. & If you don't let it heal after he does it, you're risking getting an infection so make sure his hands are clean.
