Diet pills

Question Posted Friday September 8 2006, 10:42 pm

Before anyone gets upset, I only want to boost my metabolism and thats all I expect out of diet pills. I excersize regularly and eat all day long (healthy, whole foods) and keep it down! My only problem is I have a slow metabolism and I'm looking for the healthiest and most effective way to speed it up. I'm curious about things like Stackers and Farenheit, I know they can be addictive, but, if used properly, could they honestly help? If even just a little? If not, what can?

dont get discouraged by the first sentance. its always better when it come to your body to be natural. pills like stackers and other things will have you hopping around like a rabbit and make you jittery even if you take them in moderation. ive known many people whove tried them. the best thing to do is to stay active. But if your looking for ways to burn calories then adding celery and lettuce to you regular diet and water based foods as well will help with that. so will staying active.

You need to speak to a doctor. I'm sure that there is something better than diet pills for your metabolism. you probably have no idea whats going on with your hormones etc when you take those things. Dont take advice from people online about what pills are better go to a doctor. seriously. right away. before you get addicted.
good luck

I'll spare you the lecture. Before you go looking for an aid try doing things to the foods you eat..eat more spicy things, add spicy mustard for certain things- stuff like that. The healthiest way to speed up the metabolism is to adjust your diet and training, but I know that sometimes that just isn't enough.

Stacker and Farenheit have the fancy looking labels and they promise you this and that and take my advice as a personal trainer and someone who has tried it all being a bodybuilder for 5 years- it just isn't true and the best thing to do is to avoid these supplements completely.

However there are some natural aids which are non-stimulant that may help you and one I recommend is Tonalin CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) which is an Essential Fatty Acid that your body needs anyway. It's relatively cheap and available at any health food store. Of course if you have any allergic reactions to things or you have concerns- either don't take the supplement or ask your doctor. There's no need to feel foolish or anything like that...these people are very very good at advertising the product and can have people easily fall for it, including myself at a point in time.

I won't lecture you, but any chemical metabolism boosters are temporary and potentially dangerous. There are natural foods that boost metabolism and lifting weights will burn calories like nothing else! Eat plenty of protein and avoid anything processed. Also keep hydrated to burn calories at the best rate possible.

Honestly, in the long run diet pills hurt you more then they can help. If you take them, they're going to work for everything they're supposed to work for. Meaning not just speeding up your metabolism, but it'll make you lose weight, and in a bad way that isn't good for you. It's not like a program that you can tell what you want it to do. Kinda like you can't lose weight im just one spot, it all works together. If I were you I'd stick to doing it the safe way and keep eating healthy and excersizing. That's your best bet over anything if you wanna stay healthy.
