Tropical
Hey everyone. I really want to do my room in a tropical hawwain kinda theme. I've been to websites like pbteen.com, wakeupfrankie.com and stuff like that. But everything is too expenceive. I want to put effort into buying things but I don't want to spend all of my money on like, 2 things. Please Help!!!! If anyone knows where I can get some cheap (and cute!!!) topical things, please tell me! thanks!!!

Find a neighbor with a palm tree if you can...they're usually more than willing to un load a few leaves...you make a tree with these and some coconut fiber/burlap from the craft store.

I think you can still surf the web for ideas, It will help you get a better idea of what you'd like to do to your room. You can get tropical themed items at Wal-mart & Target..Cheap places like that. The first big transformation would be to paint and border your room. Like if the top half is white, paint the bottom half like a sea-blue or bluish-green and put matching tropical border inbetween the two colors. Here's an example:[Link](Mouse over link to see full location) (see the border in the middle-just paint the bottom half a different color) Also, nice pictures of hawaii or beaches would be really cool. A Tropical pattern bedspread would also be cool. You could go to Wal-Mart and go down the sewing isle and get a couple bags of cotton ($1.50 a piece) and some needles & thread and pick out some good beach or hawaiian style fabric and make dozens of throw pillows for your bed that would be a super-cheap idea and it will keep ya' busy. i was considering doing the same thing to my room. I am going to have my mom paint a siloute (sp?) of a tree on an island on the wall right across from my door then like a sunset around it, then the rest of my walls will be yellow. i want to make a type of tiki torch that will actually hold candals and hang them on the walls around my bedroom. I WANT to put my bed in storage and sleep on a hammock for a while (not sure if that is going to happen) then like some bamboo drapes, you know those beeds that people hang in the door frames? they have something like that, but it is made of "bamboo" i also thought about getting some blow up palm trees from dollar general or something like that just to make the room more fun. I hope that you will be able to take some of these ideas and use them in your own unique way.

try going to stores like target, walmart, and maybe craft stores for stuff to hang in your room and just make it your own.some ideas- palm tree's,sunsets,sand,water,surfbaords,pinapples, think of something tropical.
