I think he's just wanting to be friendly and ask you if you want to hang out sometime. Since you guys barely talk anymore, he might miss you and miss talking to you [ in either a girlfriend way or friend way i'm not sure ] and just wants to hang out and stuff. I doubt he's trying to make you feel better, cause if you guys broke up in Feburary, don't you think he would've been trying to hang out with you sooner to make you feel better? Because that's like, 7 months right there to get over it and everything. So just hang out with him [ if you want to ] and see what happens. If he starts being all "I really missed you" and even starts flirting, then he might miss you on a girlfriend note, but if just joking around and being nice and stuff, he just wants to be friends.
