Hey im 15/f. And i think i have some sort of sleeping disorder. Because i dont usually get tired until about 3 or 4 in the morning. And i hate it because that only leaves me a couple hours of sleep. But when i do have time to sleep in i usually sleep in until like noon and dont wanna get up. I was wondering is there something wrong with me? I used to be able to fall asleep right away. But i just cant anymore. Please help!!

I mean, we're always up real late in the night, and it's bound to just stick that way. I don't fall asleep till 3 or 4 and I don't wake up till 2 in the afternoon! What I would do is just set a sleeping time at like 10 or something, and just a few hours before you go to bed, don't go on the computer, tv, video games or anything. And especially don't drink caffine unless it's in the morning. Caffine can last up to 10 hours, so if you're drinking it at like, 6 in the afternoon, you'll be up for a good while. And to keep yourself occupied, maybe ride your bike around the neighborhood, exercise, keep yourself busy and tire your body out, so whenever you're read for bed, your body is already ready to go. And if you don't already have one, buy an alarm clock and set it for the time you'd wake up for school, and ask the family if you sleep through it, whenever they come in to turn it off [ cause trust me: alarms wake EVERYONE up they're so loud ] to just shake you awake. Or if you wake up, turn it off, and try and go back to sleep, just force yourself to roll out of bed. And school will surely be hard the first day and maybe the next few, but I'm sure you'll get back on track after the first week. I hope I helped. <3 [ MelLeDisko's advice column | Ask MelLeDisko A Question ]
babiigirl answered Tuesday August 29 2006, 7:52 am: It might be because of the summer. Just about every teenagers sleeping schedule gets knocked off when summer begins. My sister is 13 and stays up all night also then goes to sleep around 5 am and sleeps till 2 in the after noon. If you want to go to bed around 10pm then get ready for bed around 9 and lay down. Turn off everything in the room. You dont want anything distracting you. Wake up the same time that you would need to get up for school. Youll be really tired but youll probly fall asleep earlier that night.
If you continue not to get enough sleep then you will get sleep deprivation. heres a few websites.

Take it 1 hour before you want to go to sleep (ex. take at 9 if you want to go to sleep at 10) and continue every night until you are sleeping all night. And no, nothing is wrong with you. You're 15 :) [ thepiratejedi's advice column | Ask thepiratejedi A Question ]

If you stay up until 3 or 4 am, and sleep in until noon, you still have your regular 8 hours of sleep, its just that you woke up late, so its like the day is going by faster then you want it to. And then you dont get tired until later because you woke up so late. Its kind of a vicious circle.
Try going to bed earlier, try reading something. Turn off the tv at least a half hour before you try to sleep so your mind will settle down.
You could try taking a hot bath right before you go to sleep. It will calm you down and make you sleepy. You can buy bath salts that are like..aromatheropy too, and they say they will calm you down too.
