Ok, so I always talk on AIM, but girls always ask me to call them. Problem is, I'm bad at talking on the phone, without having an "awkward silence." Especially with the girl I'm crushing on. What are some good phone topics or good conversation starters on the phone so that it doesn't feel awkward, and so I can call them more frequently? O I'm 15/m btw.

For example, complain about school to each other...you're bound to have an hour long conversation about that alone. Ask her how HER life is going, anything new or anything planned. If she decides not to attempt to make conversation that feel free to talk about yourself, maybe it'll get her to start talking as well. Maybe ask her if she saw a new movie that came out, and have a conversation about how STUPID it was or something.

Right now I'm noticing that Advicenators has a green//teal layout. You don't really see too many green layouts do you? You see, that's a conversation right there. Although, that dosen't work for everone so. If that dosen't work for you then you can try out different ways to start a conversation. Like having thought about something before hand. Anyway's, I hope it all works out for you
uisforukelele answered Sunday August 27 2006, 10:12 am: you can talk about anything that pops into your mind. keep a list by the phone of topics like: school, music, food, movies, stuff like that. find out what she's interested in. talk about stuff that happened at school that day or something. you can call to ask about homework or something. if there's an awkward silence, make up something (i do it all the time). what i mean by this is, if you can't think of anything to say, pretend that you were talking to your mom or dad or something, or that your dog just ate something important. i make up stupid stuff all the time, like if i can't think of anything to say, and the other person says, "are you there?" i'll be like, "oh, sorry, i was watching tv." and then you can talk about what you were supposedly watching. this always works when i'm talking to guy friends because my guy friends are too dense to realize that i'm lying. talk about random stuff. i promise you that if a girl asks you to call them, that she just wants to hear your voice even though what you're saying might be totally stupid or something. good luck.
