I'm 14 and I've been out with a 16 year old before, I don't think that it's a big age gap, although any older than that might cause problems.

Next time you hang out with him, just act friendly and chatty like you would with your other friends. Try to put the fact that you like him to the back of your mind as you get to know him because it will make it easier to chat. Once you feel more comfortable with him start to be more flirtacious and see what happens.

14 & 16 is not a huge age difference. its only 2 years. plus, usually older guys go for younger girls & younger girls go for older guys, etc. just try it. hang out, be friends, see where things go. it's not like you guys are 5 years apart. its only 2 years apart. think of it this way. when he's 92, you'll be 90 haha =) not a big difference, right?? just talk to him about it. your friends shouldn't be involved with your relationship with him anyway.

-hope that helped!♥
