Okay, so for school over the summer we had to read a book. This book is extremely boring and I lose interest in it fast. There is alot of big words and its like "how do i read this?" Well i start school tuesday. theres 319 pages and im on like page 140. I dont know if there anything to motivate me or help or what. But I dont know what to do!

Yeah I'm kind of in the same situation. I'm homeschooled and I just found out I was supposed to have 50 pages of one book read and questions about the text answered, 50 pages of a different book read and questions about the text answered, another book that was about 45 pages read and highlighted, Another book that has about 60 pages read and highlighted and questions about the text answered, and a short story read with questions to answer. I would suggest finding somewhere quiet with minimal or no distractions. Listen to music while you read, it makes it feel like time goes by faster. Drink coffee to stay awake and take a break every few hours or so so you don't get ancy.

Whenever books really bore me, I just sit there and read it anyways cause I think of the consequences for not reading. You might get in trouble with a teacher or something if you don't. And also, it'd probably be pretty embarassing to go to class and be asked a question about the book and just sit there and be like,"uhhh..", so just think of that. And so, you have the weekend to read this book. Just keep away from the computer, turn off the tv, anything that might distract you. Now, you only have about 179 pages to read, and I just divided that by 2, and it equals 89.5 so all you gotta do for two days is just read like, 89 and a half pages, or try reading the full 179 in one day. What I do sometimes to is I just sit there and eat candy or something good while I read the book. I hope I helped. <3

What you could do is give yourself a reward for every chapter you read. For example, you could let yourself watch 10 minutes of T.V. or have a piece of chocolate whenever you finish a chapter. Just focus and try to get it over with.

Suck it up and read the damn book there's nothing we can tell you that's going to motivate you except school starts soon and you'll be in real deep shit if you don't read it.

Its hard to 'Motivate' you into doing something that you've already got your mind set on not to. I think you need to bare in mind what will happen if you dont read the book. Sure it will be boring and difficult, but what will happen on Tuesday if you dont read it and turn up to school not knowing a thing? Something tells me that it wont be good if you go into class not knowing a thing. I think thats the only motivation that you could possibly get....that or read the last 10 pages and fill in the gaps with your imagination :D, only jokin :)
