I've had my braces on for 2 days now. They kill like crazy. I'm taking tylonal, moltrin, and advil so I don't need any more medicine. What else can I do to make the pain go away? And also all I can eat right now is soup, mashed potatoes, ice cream, yougurt, pudding, spaghettios, and oatmeal. What else can I eat that's soft enough? I can't chew at all not even a banana! All hep is appreciated!
I remember whenever I got mine. If they're hurting the sides of your mouth or anything, try using wax on the sides of your mouth to make it hurt less, cause then it's not rubbing on your gums and everything. What I did is I also ate ice cream and really cold stuff because it'd make my stuff really cold and make the pain go away a little, and plus it was soft. For bananas and other stuff that's a little harder to eat, try just putting it in your mouth, and then smashing it against the roof of your mouth with your tongue and then swallowing it. That's what I had to do for awhile. But here's a site I found:

lauren_taylor answered Thursday August 24 2006, 3:56 pm: I got my braces only two monthes ago, and I cleary remember how hard it was the first few days! The pain only lasted about three days for me, so I'm assuming that you are going to be eating normal foods within the next three days at the most. You are eating all of the right foods right now. I can't really think of anything else besides popsicles. They helped me out a lot because they are cold and numb some of the pain. Hope I helped =) [ lauren_taylor's advice column | Ask lauren_taylor A Question ]
DancinCutie08 answered Thursday August 24 2006, 3:01 pm: just wait it out. By the weekend you should be fine. I remeber my first couple days being hell. I cried when i tried to eat a baked potato. I would eat popsicles and freeze pops because they numb your mouth. Or if all else fails make smoothies! [ DancinCutie08's advice column | Ask DancinCutie08 A Question ]
