foundation

Question Posted Monday August 21 2006, 8:00 pm

advicenators,
i've tried putting on liquid foundation before but i can't seem to find the right shade for my skin tone. its really frustrating! Are there any tricks to finding the right shade from looking at the bottle in the store? also, when i put foundation on in a duller light in my bathroom it looks fine, but if i turn on a brighter light it looks incredibly horrible!...like you know how everybody had very very light, almost invisible facial hair (i guess)..all over your face, well they become more visible i suppose. but i am not sure if its supposed to be like that. AHHH please helppp!

my mom told me that you should compare it to wrist.. the part right below the palm of your hand and it should be the same color as your face.

hope i helped =]

When you buy foundation, try the tester at the store or hold up the bottle to your jawline and compare it to your skin tone. As for the weird facal hair situation, use more moisturizer to tone it down.

Well, what I do sometimes is, if the store has a tester, I just wipe a little against my hand and see how it looks in the lighting and evertyhing. Or, if they have a makeup area with those women who do makeovers for people, I'd walk up to one of them [ or even ask one of the women behind the counter ] if they can help you find a good shade of liquid foundation or what they think would be the best one. I hope I helped. <3

if they let you in the store ((most stores do or dont) open the foundation and try a little on your cheek or forehead and see what the result is. dont try too much, otherwise they'll think you are actually putting it on, not trying it on. If they dont let you do that. then buy a foundation you think would be suitable, go home and add some blush of your choice and add some face cream. It gives your skin a glow ((not glow like that bright facial hair showing type)) but makes your skin pretty and gives it the right tone.

I hope I helped!
