Question Posted Saturday August 12 2006, 11:17 am

Okk so my dad booked a european cruise for us and i'm really nervous because of what recently amost happened in london. Now i'm even more nervous because we're flying to London as one of our first flights. I'm so nervous! I'm always nervous of plains even though I fly to australia every summer! Is there any way to make me less nervous?

I remember whenever I first had to go on a plane a year after 9/11 happened. It was my first flight too, so I was especially nervous. But whenever I got there, I saw how strict and guarded the security is. They're barely letting anything go through the gates now so I'm sure nothing will happen to you. Just think of how wonderful you're cruise is going to be and especially in Europe! There's so many things to see and do there. And also bring along maybe a CD player or video games or something to play with to keep your mind off of it and keep yourself entertained for awhile. I hope I helped! <3

OK well now with all the airport saftey you have nothing to worry about! there is so much stuff banned (all liquids) that you should be safe, the best thing to do is NOT worry, or you will worry yourself sick, and not have a good time! just don't worry, and think about how you are going to have a GREAT time!!

~HAVE FUN!~

Try to think about other things and how much fun you are going to have on your cruise...don't think about all the recent problems. I also find that it helps to tak DRAMAMINE before it calms down your nerves. Bring plenty of things to do so you are nto just sitting there on the plane thinking.
I Hope I Helped

I'm flying out of London in 9 days so I understand what you mean. However, try to keep in mind that Heathrow is the busiest airport in the world and very well guarded. So too is Gatwick etc. As these people discovered it is not easy to slip past the security systems they have in place. There are even more security checks going on now, so in theory it is even safer to fly in/out of these airports at the moment.
Please try not to let this stop you from enjoying this fantastic trip in front of you. Europe is an amazing place and well worth the visit. Make sure you have things to occupy yourself and if necessary, it is possible to get some herbal calmers, but I would suggest you check with your doctor first.
Hope that helps and have a great time.

Try thinking that you're gonna be fine, entertain yourself by hearing music, having long conversations with your dad so you don't even think about what's making you nervous, time will past quickly or have a long sleep there, and relax I'm sure you'll be okay.
