I usally go to sleep around 4 or 5 in the morning and wake up at 2 or 3 in the day time. How can i go to bed earlier without taking pills. If i go to bed at 11 (when i want to) im not tired, and i cant go to sleep. I cant wake up earlier either because.. the rest of the day I might fall asleep in class or whatever because when I dont get enough sleep its not pretty. THANKS!

Go to bed a half an hour earlier, then get up an hour earlier the next morning. Keep active. Because you got up earlier, you can go to bed another hour earlier, and get up even earlier still. After a week or so, you will be going to bed and getting up at the right time. It will still be tough. I have read many times that it takes 21 days to develop a new habit. So, once you are getting to bed earlier, keep it up for a month or two before you decide you just can't.
Do not do anything in your bed other than sleep. No reading, no tv. Your body will associate those things with bed and it will be even harder to sleep there. Keep your room cool, which slows your body down. Use a fan to do that. It will provide white noise, which is also good for helping to sleep. Drink milk or have some cheese and crackers about an hour before you intend to go to bed. If you find your mind wandering when you try to sleep, grab a notebook and write down what is on your mind. It will help to tame your thoughts. Give it time and effort and you will be able to get to bed earlier and actually sleep. [ blwinteler's advice column | Ask blwinteler A Question ]

TEENAGExHEARTS answered Saturday August 12 2006, 10:19 am: okay what i would do is pick one day where you don't have to go to class or work or anywhere. then i would go to sleep at your normal time but set an alarm for like 11 in the morning. then that day you will be tired from not getting enought sleep, but then you will also be able to fall asleep that night at a decent time. so if you fall asleep at like midnight then your body should wake you up around 10 in the morning. if you keep doing this then your body should get use to the changes.
