LIves flashing I don't know if this goes here.....but....anyway...
I was listening to Carrie Underwood's song "Jesus Take the Wheel" and i was wondering...
is there an explanation to why people's lives flash before their eyes when something bad is about to happen (like the accident in the song)
I have always wondered about that!!
Thanks in advance~ I RATE

I think it isn't so much your life flashing before your eyes, I think it's more all the important people and things in your life come to your thoughts. ]
Hey... I don't think this is necessarily true.
I have an embarassing story to share.
When I was in 6th grade (I'm now in 10th), my entire class (6th grade) took a field trip to Wild Waters ( a water park).
The thing is, I had never swam before. Not in a pool, nowhere. So I didn't know how to swim.
So there was this big wave pool, where everyone could swim. My friends and I went in there. I went in around 3/4 of the way.
The next thing I knew, I was underwater. My first thought was "OMG, is this really happening? I don't want to die." I could see the water and other people.
And finally a lifeguard saved me. I knew I was supposed to not struggle, so I didn't. You would not believe how absolutely glad I was to be breathing in air. It was unbeliebable embarassing though.
I didn't go on any other water rides after that, and didn't cry until I got home.
And from then, I've always dreaded water.
Sorry that this doesn't really apply to your question closely (I like telling stories lol...and that was a true one), and perhaps that wasn't a near-death experience because I was saved, but I think it is.
The point is, while I was underwater, my life was not flashing before my eyes. I was mainly incredulous that I was about to die, like that and young too. And wondering if it were really happening. ]
There's no real answer to this..but in my opinion, I think it's because the person goes through all of their moments they've experianced. ]
This really ins't a question with a straight answer. Everyone's opinion will vary. To me, I think often that happens because when you realize your life is that close to being over, hundereds of thoughts and experiences that were looming in the back of your mind come flying at you--so to speak. Just like sometimes before you go to bed at night, your mind drifts to thinking about happy times, bad times, or simply what you did that day. The whole life flashing before you sistuation may present intself to you because something in your head "clicks". Who knows. Hopefully you don't have to learn the reason from personal experience. :) ]
