Animal Rights I want to get started in animal activism and PETA isn't the right way to start, correct? Can someone point me in the right direction?
If someone would give me names of books for other activism things that would be cool as well.

I'm not a fan of PETA myself, and I am by no means a vegan, but I think the best way to start in slow and steady. Contact your local SPCA and animal rescue and volunteer. This could lead to other issues you learn about and you can meet people who care about the issues you do. ]
are you a vegan? if not, then you probably should be. animal rights starts with the individual. as a vegan myself, I listen to the vegan freaks podcast (www.podcast.veganfreaks.com). they generally have interviews with big names in the animal rights movement which can help you become more aware of the suffering of animals. as well, they occasionally address teens wishing to help animals and talk with a lot of organizations. ]
If you want to start and are a teenager there is also an organiztion called T.A.R.A. it stands for teen animal rights activism, also there is website which will give you a list of all the associations/organizations that are out there not only animal rights but pretty much every other cause you could think of its called riseup.
Hope this helps.
