admire versus like

Question Posted Wednesday August 9 2006, 4:41 am

can you admire a person and like them at the same time? For instance, my sis's friend told my sis that she admired me,does that mean that she likes me as well?

And is there a difference from liking someone to loving someone?

if you admire someone it kind of means you want to be like them.. it doesnt always mean u like them.. but sometimes it does it just depends how they put it.

and the difference between liking and loving is that if you love someone you want to be with them for the rest of your life but liking someone it can change in a matter of secs, minutes, hours, days etc. and if you like someone its more like a crush but a little but more maybe

if the person doesnt really know you, they just admire you for what youve done or want to do. but if they know you, if could be the same thing or they could like you cus of it. it all depends on how well yall know eachother. hope i helped!

Yes. If you admire God, that doesn't mean you hate him. You still like/love him and worship/admire him. And if you're not a Christian, sub God for your role-model.

And frankly, it's hard to tell the difference from liking someone and loving them.

Would you stick with them no matter what? Would you die for them? Would you give up your favorite possesion for them?

Don't compare the feeling you have for someone with the [love] feelings you have for your family members, boyfriends etc. because there are a lot of way to love someone.

Just remember that you will most definately know when you're in love. But don't rush into saying it to random people. I mean you can without really meaning it...but if you do think you're in love, think about it before saying to someone cuz it might totally freak them out =P

Yes,you can admire a person, and like them at the same time. And about liking someone is not strong as loving someone, when you're in love it can make you think that the world is beautiful, and make's you a very positive person.

There is a good chance that she does like you as well as she appears to know you. It is possible to admire someone without knowing if you like them or not. Think about some famous person you have never met. You can't really say you like them if you don't know them, however, you can admire them.
There is a vast difference between liking and loving, it is difficult to actually pinpoint the differences until you have experienced true love. When it happens you will know the difference, but briefly, if you feel you would be unable to cope without someone in particular and they make your day just by being in it, you would do anything for them, and their happiness comes before your own, that is generally love.
Hope that helps and good luck.

Yeah admire is pretty much the same thinking as liking someone , so she does like you as well. & Yes , there is a difference between liking someone to loving someone. When you like someone it means you have feelings for that person but not alot. When you love someone it means that you would do anything for them , & that they mean more than the world to you & so on. && by the way never say you love someone when yuo don`t know what it actually means! Lol. Good Luck! ♥
