more_than_a_feeling answered Friday August 4 2006, 10:42 pm: I have a Virgin Mobile Pay-As-You-Go and I love it!! I have a really nice camera phone with games and superphonic ringtones. It'a affordable, they have cool phones, and it's simple. JUST DON'T GET TRACFONE!!!! It sucks and you never get service ANYWHERE!!! Good luck! orphans answered Friday August 4 2006, 11:00 am: no not really. the total bill for a month comes outu to about the same as a normal phone. normal phones have better features.
the only thing good about a pay as you go is that you dont have a contract, so you can stop using it whenever you like (and not have to pay a fee)
but for ME, if i had a pay as you go, it would come out to be more expensive than a regular one, so i would suggest geting like a razr or somethin [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
johncenarules54 answered Friday August 4 2006, 1:43 am: Pay-as-you-go cell phones are usualy not good, but it depends on how much you use it. If you only use it every now and then it could be alright, but if you plan on using it a lot for actual conversatons, I suggest getting a normal phone plan. :-) [ johncenarules54's advice column | Ask johncenarules54 A Question ]
DancinCutie08 answered Thursday August 3 2006, 9:45 pm: I used to have one. If it is your first cell phone and you pay for it yourself i think they are very nice. Like i had virgin mobile and i only payed $20 when i got my mins. and i didn't have to buy new ones until i wanted to so yearly i was only spending like $100. The bad thing its you really can't afford to talk on them. Like with virgin mobile i but on about $20 every 2-3 monthes and each min is 25 cents so you really go through that $20 fast. So i really only used it for texting and emergencies
Also with virgin mobile you can get plans sort of.. like you but the $20 and you have a set amont of mins (like 150) but then you can't use that for texting and it becomes more like a reg plan.
its kind of confusing but all together i really enjoyed it for the 2 years i had it
check out their site virginmobileusa.com
currently i have a T-mobile phone (razr) and i was added on to my families plan.. i still have to pay my share and its $45 a month which sucks but i basically have unlimited mins and texting [ DancinCutie08's advice column | Ask DancinCutie08 A Question ]
lauren_taylor answered Thursday August 3 2006, 9:04 pm: I really don't like pay-as-you-go cellphones. I don't know why, but it was kind of a pain to keep going to the store and buying more minute cards.
If you decide to get a real cell phone, I would sugguest Verizon Wireless. They have free nights & weekends and free Verizon to Verizon. My family has the family plan & that works out pretty well. They also have a very reliable network. It kind of depends on where you live, though. [ lauren_taylor's advice column | Ask lauren_taylor A Question ]
