Virgin Mary Tattoo
I really like the Virgin Mary tattoos. I think they look really good. Problem is, I'm a Christian and as you know, the Virgin Mary, is a Cathelect (sp) thing.
Do you think it would be wronge for me to get one even though I'm a Christian?
P.S;; I'm 26 and have other tattoos. So please, don't lecture me about them or anything.

I have nothing against tattoo's at all. Im 24 and have 5 of them myself.
Ok, so about your tattoo, I wouldn't get the Virgin Mary just for the simple fact that your not Catholic. A tattoo represents something that is dear to you, a part of you, something you believe in. So this would be a contradiction. How about a cross or something else that's related to religion? Here's a website that has thousands of tattoo's.. I know you didn't ask for it but sometimes when you get to looking at all of them, you happen to find one that you'll just die if you don't get...so you never know!

you shouldn't. its an ultamit contradiction. I cant fully answer this question without bringing this up but the whole "dont make marks on the body" reffers to cutters and tattos, so making one of anything reffering to the Christian religion would be..dumb. Catholic is a Christian religion, so it wouldnt be wrong for that reason. I would suggest getting one in henna tho, because those are temporary

Just because you have the tattoo... doesnt mean you're a believer. So no, i dont think it would be wrong. & i dont believe that God or Jesus take those things personally. If some of the people at your church community have a problem with it... i'd ignore them. If God doesnt mind it, why should you, or them for that matter?
I'm "Catholic"(i respect you for trying haha) & i do believe in the Virgin Mother... but i just wondered, are there any Christian churches that believe in the Virgin Mary? because i know there are many Christian churches.

First of all, Roman Catholics are Christians, even though many of them consider themselves Catholics first. It's quite a warped perception, but it's a sad truth. While Roman Catholics have a higher reverence for Mary than other Christian denominations (some going as far as believing she was without sin and remained a virgin for her entire life, and others going even further and believing her to be a deity), Mary is still an important figure in Christianity. If you are a non-Roman Catholic Christian (as I am), there is nothing wrong with getting a tattoo of the virgin Mary. However, think about your reasons for wanting one. It's one thing to get the tattoo because you wish to honor the earthly mother of Christ, or even if you just like the look of it. It's another thing entirely to buy into the idea that she was without sin or was in any way more than human. If nothing else, pray about it.

I thought Catholics and Christians were all the same thing and just like different branches. I don't see anything wrong with getting one of her. Go with what you want. I'm Wiccan though.
