Small town

Question Posted Wednesday August 2 2006, 7:18 pm

Hi i'm 15/f and me and my boyfriend are starting to have sex and are moving slow. I was wondering how to get birth control if you don't have a Plan Parent hood and you live in a small town wear everyone knows you. I want to make sure that everything is okay before trying again and I've done some research and I want to know if it is necsesary if I don't have sex really often maybe only once every couple of months or so? Thanks

Small towns are difficult when it comes to hiding things...I know all too well! Either use birth control or don't have sex..not even once in a while..not even once a year.

You will probably have to ask an older sibling or older friend to buy birth control for you. Buy the over the counter spermicide and condoms. Make sure you use both every time you have sex. Of course you have to consider that there is no birth control that is 100% effective.

you may not want to reply to this message after reading my advice however you're just 15 years old, you need to focus on your schooling; and you asked is it neccesary to not have sex really often ? my advice to you is not to have sex at all and therefore there would be no need for birth control or a plan for parenthood .

Howver if my advice means absolutely nothing to you then the next wise thing for you to do is protect yourself; there is no guarantee that this young man will be with you always you're just 15 and you have have your whole life ahead of you .

God Bless You

You could only have sex one time a year and still get pregnant. You ovulate EVERY month. It's very simple for you to get on birth-control. Every city has a Health Department. Call and make your self an appointment. Because you are under the age of 18, the state will pay for everything, no bills, NOTHING. Another great thing about them is you don't have to have your parents know ANYTHING. They'll never call your house, mail anything there or nothing. My 17 year old sister's been going there for a year now and my mom still don't have a clue.

Google or yahoo search EX: North Carolina Health Department

I think you should ask your doctor. Secretly make an appointment with your doctor, and hide it from your parents by saying you're going to a friends house. Make sure that you tell your friend that you're "going" to her house.
Ask your doctor for birth control. It is impossible for your doctor to tell anyone that you're using birth control because all doctors take like this "oath" that makes them promise not to let out any information. Your doctor could go to jail for that!

Coming from a small town I understand your concern.

You could try the local health clinic. They are supposed to keep things confidential ( so long as you don't know anyone working there).

There are any number of over the counter foams and or vaginal suppositories (spermicides)that work good combined with use of a condom.

Here is a great place to start. It lists all the different types of birth control. Be sure to read
some of the other topics on the site. It has a lot of useful info for teens on it.
