Hard to let it out.

Question Posted Wednesday August 2 2006, 4:07 pm

I hate even having to say this because one thing I'm terrified of is sounding self centered. My friends and people I don't even know tell me I have a good voice. I love to sing and I think it's what I want to do with my life. Alright, I admit I'm okay. But does anyone know how I can get involved in the music business or have a number I can call or anything? Thanks =]

Hey,

Its not easy to break into "the biz" your best bet if you don't want to do those american idol or talent type shows is to join a band. If you want to go to american idol or a talent show do not get an agent as most of those shows will not allow you to enter if you have one. Scouts don't go to high school shows, but if you are in a band they may see you perform. If you are under 21 then you can still do gigs in public just not in bars.

That would be my advice, also if you are really serious then I would suggest you start getting lessons to learn how to control your breathing and so that you can make the most of your voice.

Good luck

Yeah, like the girl below me, talent scouts come to like showings of musicals and concerts and things. I LOVE singing, too. But I'm waiting to graduate college and stuff, I'm not saying youshould do that, because people aren't just going to take you if you have a good voice. You have to know how to sing correctly, and you have to have experience meaning you had to have other gigs and/or gone to a performing arts school. I mean, if your voice is like AMAZING like christina aguileras, then they probably wil take you, haha. If your old enough, you could do american idol? Or americas got talent? The first thing your going to need is an agent, and I suggest looking online for those?

Anyway,
good luck!

Hey, My name is Haven.

By the way, you do not sound self-centered at all. Basically, you just need to keep putting yourself out there so people can hear you. The best way to be noticed, is to enter like competitions or jus do concerts. Yea i love singing also. Its one of my favorite things to do but, i dont have a number or anyting but jus keeping putting yourself out there. ITs good that your getting great comments. I'm proud of you. Just keep trying.

goodbye
