Question Posted Tuesday August 1 2006, 10:05 pm

hey,
I am a 14/f and I live in Washington State. (spokane if that helps) I turn 15 in acouple months and I know your allowed to take drivers ed once you turn 15. I have alot of questions about this. When can I take it? Only during the summer or during the school year too? Is 15 the right age? Where can I take drivers Ed.? And anything else you know about would be REALLY appreciated. Thanks soooo much xoxoxo

I just finished Drivers Ed. In my state however, we cant take it until we are closer to 16. I took it through school as a class. If your school doesnt offer it, go to a private driving group and ask when their classes are and if you are the right age. Here we have places like Excel and Top Driver. If you dont know where to go, try going to the DMV and asking.

Drivers Ed is fun, but it can get really boring. Just stick with it and keep your grade up!

Where I live. Missouri. You can take your permit test when you are 15 years old. (15 1/2 for a motorcycle). You can take it anytime you want. During the school year, summer, spring break ; when ever you are ready to take it. I took mine the day of my birthday and I even had a black eye in my permit picture (great I know, haha)

You should have a Drivers Ed. book that you have been studing out of (if not you can get one at the place your parents go to get their lisencs pictures). When you get that book if you look in the INDEX it should tell you where you can call or even a website that will tell you the nearest place to take the test. Also, the book will tell you what you will need to bring with you when you take your test. (Almost everywhere you need a copy of your birth certificicate (wow I can`t spell that word) & your social sercuirty card. (Your parents should know where those are.)

Good luck on your test & don`t worry - it`s not that bad.. even with a black eye :]

Where i live you take drivers Ed. When they offer the class. And its $375 plus the cost of books. Im not sure if thats how it works where you live. You should Call your DMV and you can find that number in the phone book. Or you can ask friends that have taken the course and ask them to give you some information.

Were I live,You don't start drivers Ed until you turn 16.Usually they offer it to you in school. But if they don't you can go and check the internet or newspaper for more information.Driver Ed supposedly lets you take it during the school year or during the summer.Just check around your neighborhood and ask about it to other people. You should find out soon ;)

Happy driving!

You can take it both in the summer and during school. They usually have a new class that starts every week or so. Yes, 15 is the right age to take it. You need to find a driving school around your town to take it. I know some Sears have driving schools but there are also many individual schools that aren't run by a big company. Those are usually better because they aren't so hard on you.

What you should do is ask around for the best school. Ask older kids (16+) where they took it and if they liked the school they went to.
