It really depends on the kind of person you are. Sompe people can't live without books (like me) and other people can't even look at books because they hate it so much. People consider those two books very good because their classics people can relate to. And most classic books aren't like that. ]
People consider Catcher in the Rye good because of the internal conflict that Holden Caulfield deals with. They like it because they can relate to it. They also enjoy it because of how Holden struggles with reality.
I personally enjoy reading because it helps me when I am depressed or stressed. I can see people in worse situations without leaving my house.
I also enjoy reading because it is an escape. ]
Some people find reading to be therapeutic. I have a short attention span also known as ADD so i dont care for reading books unless they arent huge and they are mysterious. It also depends on the type of book... cook books are good. ]
