Well, being the only laptop I've ever had, I have nothing to compare it to. But I'm still pretty sure it's a really decent laptop, 'Acer Aspire 1640'. Basically all I use it for is games, talking and music, and I love it.

I know that apple computers can have allot of memory if you get a good one. But they are very slow sometimes. My cousin got some program but I have no clue what its called, but it makes it faster. I have a dell laptop and I love it. :]
It depends on the features you want. Since you said games, chatting and music the Dell costs less and is good for that. It comes with games on it, you can get a messanger program and it comes with this music program also.

as always, I suggest an apple computer. if you buy a newer one you can dual-boot OSX and Windows and run your games. they don't crash. they don't get viruses.

For gaming you need a computer with a fast CPU and loads of memory.

I like to use the Consumer Search website. They're a kind of "meta-review" website in that they compile all the reviews that are out there and base their recommendations on that.

Their laptop page is at:

The Dell Inspiron 9300 comes highly recommended for gaming, but read the whole article (it runs onto a couple of pages) to get a good perspective on what's out there.

Well, they make a lot of great laptops now and offer good packages at elextronic places now. Everyone has their opinion about best car brand and computer brand--but in MY opinion and use, I think Dells are the worst in lap tops. I think the BEST is Sony--but it's very expensive. Toshiba, HP, Sony, and Compaq are really good. Whatever you do I wouldn't get the Tablets that have the reversable turnable screen. It's pretty much all for show and has been known to have crashing problems. They are costly and you are basically paying for a "neat" feature. I would check into a The first 3 I listed though. Good luck. :)
