can you get pregnant if you have sex on your period when you dont use a condom? what are some of the consequenses? Also how long does a sperm stay alive when it is out of the penis?
There aren't any consequences, except you are more sensitive down there, and it can get kind of messy at times depending on how long you've been on it.
And after sperm hits the air, it stays alive only for a few minutes. But it doesn't die as soon as it leaves the penis, anyone that says that is just dumb. lol, kidding. But it really doesn't. [ Melody's advice column | Ask Melody A Question ]
UHOHxOMFG answered Monday July 24 2006, 11:56 am: yes you can. while your going threw the cycle there is a 4 day period before and after your period which is the time that you most likely will get pregnant.that always includes while your on your peirod as well.
your body is ovulating which means that a new egg is being created and a sperm can go to it in this process.
a sperm can live up from 5 to 7 days but most of them will burn from friction or the tempature of a girls insides but some may survive.
dancinangel1029 answered Monday July 24 2006, 11:29 am: i dont really agree wit the other answers because before you get your period you have a window of about 3 to 4 days that you can get pregnant because the lining in the uterus that protects the egg is fully developed & when you have your period that lining is going away and there would be nothing for the egg to lay in & be protected. and the sperm can stay alive from 5 to 7 days. some of the cansequences is that you can get an std such a herpes' & hiv. hope i helped =] [ dancinangel1029's advice column | Ask dancinangel1029 A Question ]
elipongo answered Monday July 24 2006, 8:11 am: Yes, indeed, you can get pregnant if you have unprotected sex during your period. Just because you're menstruating, doesn't mean that you can't also be ovulating. Blood from your vagina is also not always your menses.
Besides pregnancy, you can also get a sexually transmitted disease such as Herpes, Gonorrhea, or HIV.
Inside a woman's body, sperm can survive for about five days.
Tulipg17 answered Monday July 24 2006, 7:50 am: Yes you can certainly get pregnant, Both other answers are wrong about sperm though, it can live for 5-7 DAYS. This is why you should always use a condom every time and if you are serious about preventing pregnancy then get on the pill as well. [ Tulipg17's advice column | Ask Tulipg17 A Question ]
Exquisitechick answered Monday July 24 2006, 7:08 am: Yes you can get pregnant if you have sex while on youre period. The consequenses? well they are basically the same as when you dont use protection plus very messy. You can get STDs or even pregnant
If I am not mistaken it can survive for up to 24 hours after ejaculation and longer if it is contained in an air-tight seal and refrigerated/frozen. I've known people that have gotten pregnant from semen that has been left on their underpants with no intercourse. Those little buggers have a mission and they will find a way from noway to get to that egg
