For the SATs, do you have to define a word for the vocabulary section, and if so, how many definitions are there?

You don't define the words. There are choices with close to meaning to the word and you choose those. It's not that hard. Good luck on the SAT. :]

i haven't taken the new SAT, but i took the old one when i was in the seventh grade (2 years ago) and there were some definitions and stuff. as i recall, there were fill in the blanks and some that asked for like, synonyms and antonyms of words, and all kinds of stuff. normally there are like five or six answer choices.

Well I've only taken the PSAT but on that I all I had to do was put in a word in place of another. But nope, didn't have to actually define anything.
