babymija answered Saturday July 22 2006, 10:49 pm: the only thing that you can do is tell her how much she means to you and how much it would hurt to watch her get hurt from drinking. and encourage her to get help. i had a drinking problem in my past and what made me realize what i was doing was one of my friends told me how much it hurt her to see me how i was and what i meant to her so maybe it could work for you. hope i helped!! PANiCxATxTHExDiSCO answered Saturday July 22 2006, 8:14 pm: An alcoholic cannot stop drinking and get help unless they admit that they have a problem.
You can try Ala-teen and Ala-non.
You could also try going to a book store and buying one or more of the following books for your friend and giving them to her, but make sure she isn't drinking when you give them to her:
Ala-non's twelve steps and twelve traditions
Courage To Change
Addictions- A Banquet In The Grave
Anne Smith's Journal 1933-1939
Hope For Today
12 Steps To Loving Yourself
Alcoholics Anonymous Big Book
You can try telling her all the dangerous side effects of alcohol, but make sure isn't drinking if you do so.
Here are some of the side effects of alcohol:
-Blurred vision and coordination problems
-Cancer of the mouth
Alcohol also can impair vision, impair sexual function, slow circulation, cause malnutrition, cause water retention (resulting in weight gain and bloating), lead to pancreatitis and skin disorders (such as middle-age acne), dilate blood vessels near the skin causing "brandy nose," weaken the bones and muscles, and decrease immunity.
-Cell membranes are highly permeable to alcohol, so once alcohol is in the bloodstream it can diffuse into nearly every tissue of the body
-Cancer of the throat
-Alcoholics who do not quit drinking decrease life expectancy by 10 to 15 years.
-After excessive drinking, unconsciousness can occur and extreme levels of consumption can lead to alcohol poisoning and death
-Cancer of the esophagus
-The liver detoxifies (or metabolizes) alcohol. Continued, excessive use of alcohol can damage the liver is various ways including the development of a fatty liver. A fatty liver can progress to cirrhosis of the liver, a potentially fatal condition.
-Cancer of the larynx
-Damage of the stomach and lining of the small intestine
-Alchohol taken during pregnancy can cause fetal alcohol syndrome.
-Alcohol damages the liver, the central nervous system, the gastrointestinal tract, and the heart.

sassysara answered Saturday July 22 2006, 1:04 pm: I don't think that you can get her to stop, she has to want to stop (sucks I know) but there is alateen which is basically AA for teenagers. You can go on the web and maybe print out a pamplet, they tend to have questionaires for people to answer that have a problem with drinking. Also be her friend, sooner or later she will hit bottom and need your support.
Also there is a group called ala-non which is for friends and family of people who have a problem with alcohol they may be able to give you some tips.
