What does "ten of nine" mean?
I feel awfully stupid asking this question but I can't seem to figure it out. I'm babysitting today and the lady asked me to be there at ten of nine...well, I don't know what that means. I should've asked my mom but I forgot! Does it mean 8:50 or 9:10????
Please help so I can be there on time!

10 of 9 means 8:50. get it. like 10 minutes of 9. if it was 9:10 it would be 10 past 9.
