American Idol What would yall do to prepare for the auditions of american idol? i really want to try out next year (cant this year because i wont be 16 in time) and i know that i need to lose weight and take voice lessons of some sort (never had voice lessons but im pretty good for someone who hasnt). all i know is im lost and i need help...can anyone help me out?

i auditioned this year for american idol, sadly i wasn't chosen but it was a great experience. all you need to do is practice and have two pieces of music you know really well. drink a lot of water... thats all you really need to do. good luck!

yea if you try out for a part/role on ANY tv show, you should be more 'glam.' so you should lose weight if necessary, and find a cute look that works for you. and voice lessons are suggested ]
From a singer's stadpoint, I would do vocal warmups daily, choose my audition song now, along with like 5 other songs in very different genres, and practice. For any audition, it's always best to be prepared. Make sure that you eat well and maintain your health. If you're going to take voice lessons, start now. Drink tea with lemon and honey, and gargle with warm salt water. Please see other music questinos on my column for more tips. ]
