orphans answered Thursday July 13 2006, 1:34 am: About the soreness: When I got braces, they hurt like woah! And they were scraping my mouth and lips all up. But then a few days later I got used to it. Now about a month ago, my ortho gave me bands, and they scraped my lips too, but now I don't even notice they're there. Just give it time!
GREENEYEDGiRL22 answered Wednesday July 12 2006, 10:30 pm: yea your just not used to them. take advil for a few days until they feel more natural. you CAN kiss people in them, considering kising shouldndt relly involve teeth too much ;D [ GREENEYEDGiRL22's advice column | Ask GREENEYEDGiRL22 A Question ]
Helpful answered Wednesday July 12 2006, 9:55 pm: Advil helps the mouth pain. Invisalign has the same effect as braces, which is to move your teeth into the correct position. You will be tender after you get a new one, every time. Try not to eat hard things for a day or two. Good luck! [ Helpful's advice column | Ask Helpful A Question ]
Nallie answered Wednesday July 12 2006, 9:50 pm: I didn't have invisalign braces, but I did have braces and I remember the soreness well. Especially after the braces were tightened. This is caused from the pulling and pressure on your teeth, and actually mean that the braces are working. After 2-3 days, and a little movement of my teeth it would no longer hurt until the next adjustment. You can always ask the dentist about the sores in your mouth, I imagine he will advise some type of rinse to help them heal. In addition he might need to make adjustments so they are not rubbing or creating friction on the tissue. As far as medications, if you are not allergic and/or have stomach problems it is most likely safe to take ibuprofen, once again it would be best to ask your dentist. Best of luck..oh and by the way..Kiss AWAY! It would be perfectly safe! [ Nallie's advice column | Ask Nallie A Question ]
