losing weight over summer

Question Posted Thursday July 6 2006, 4:28 pm

mkay. i'm trying to lose weight over the summer. like 10-15 pounds. and what im trying to do everydayis eat a salad for lunch not too much crap for dinner and a 90 calorie chewy bar for breakfast or 100calorie yogurt for breakfast. and then everyday im trying to do a lot of situps and 50 pushups and im trying to go for a bike ride everyday. now its rly hard for me to do all this. the situps/pushups i can do; the bike ride i cant do a lot because i travel so much in the summer and the eating right is SO hard for me because i love to eat but im rly trying..is there anything else you can suggest for me to do to lose weight this summer and it has to be something i can do anywhere (even out of the country; however when i go to spain there is a gym in at least one of the hotels so i'm good there ill just go to the gym) please and thanks.

Ehhhh depends , cause Shaq eats a whole bunch yet burns a lot of it by playing basketball and being active because some one of his size needs to eat a lot for the energy. In the morning, as told by everyone you do not want to limit your breakfast to a yogurt. Get some toast in your diet for the carbs before workouts, and some protein source. A banana a day. Push ups is for muscle in arms, not for losing weight. You can easily run any where you go, swim as in doing laps. Lunges which help the thighs, and this other exercise that will make you think it is easy at first but gets harder. Jump in place as high as you can and bring your feat up real high. Any more questions or need any more workouts just pm me or ask.

I'm glad that you're taking the action to lose weight instead of putting it aside. You need to exercise and eat healthy. Breakfast if very important. You can't just eat a chewy bar and/or yogurt. Your body needs the protein and fiber to get you ready for the day. Try these diet plans. Simply changing what you eat can make big changes. For example, try getting 'light' versions of things that you like to eat. Examples ;; Butter/Margarine, Sour Cream, Diet Soda [[ that doesn't mean that you can have soda every day ]], ect. Remember to stick to your diet. Check labels. If the item has more than 180 calories, and more than 2 grams of saturated fat, then its not good for you. Go by the suggested serving size. It's all about portions.

Diet 1 ;;

Breakfast --

1 cup cereal with 1/2 cup soy mlk
1 banana
1 cup lite yogurt

Lunch -
Salad with grilled chicken and fat free dressing

Dinner -
1 medium baked chicken breast
1/2 cup white rice
Steamed or Baked vegetables

Snacks --
Strawberries
OR
2 Handfuls of Pretzels
OR
2 Handfuls of Microwave Popcorn

Diet 2 ;;

Breakfast --

2 Scrambled Eggs
1 Slice Wheat Bread with Light Margarine
1 spoonful of light jam

Lunch -
Healthy Choice frozen entree
OR
Turkey Sandwich with an apple or carrots

Dinner -
8-oz. steak with steamed vegetables
OR
Salad with turkey lunch meat and low-cal dressing

Snacks --
Handful of Almonds
OR
2 Oranges
OR
1 Can Diet Soda

I used to eat Lunchables every day when I didn't have enough time to cook something for lunch. Guess what? I just got into nutrition label checking. One lunchable has FOUR HUNDRED AND SEVENTY CALORIES and SEVEN grams of saturated fat. I started eating Healthy Choice frozen foods instead of Lunchables. They taste better and they're very delicious. They have many varities of the frozen foods. Chicken Alfredo, Lasagna, Sesame Chicken, Enchilada with Rice, ect.

Hope I helped!

Okay well to lose weight it takes a lot of time and hard work. If you are movitaved you can do it, dont starve yourself, and breakfast is the main meal of the day, and the most important. You need to eat a well balanced breakfast, eggs, bananas, you know whole wheat toast, dont just eat a 90 calorie chewy bar. Just try eating more protein and greens. But make sure you give yourself a pat on the back by eating something you really want, dont become obsessive by looking at labels and counting calories all the time, because that wont help. And exercising a lot doesnt neccasarily mean you'll be more fit, dont do them to quickly, because you get better results doing them slow and breathing correctly.

I hope things go well:) be safe, eat healthy :]

If you're having trouble eating right just eat a salad. Put like meat in it so that way it's more filling. & if you can't do that then look at how many grams of fat are in it & do that many sit-ups. Example: If you had some cereal that was 50 grams of fat then you do 50 sit-ups. It's a good idea it's just very hard to keep up with. So I suggest keep a little notebook with you. & to find out if you're over weight or not. For 5 feet it's 100 pounds & additional 5 for each inch. Example: I'm 5'9". So 100 for the 5 feet then 5 pounds for each of the 9 inches so it's 45. So 145. & you can weigh 10 pounds less than that or 10 pounds more than that. & that's just average.

Hope I helped.
