Hey, Well for some time now I've been having problems, i have been extremely "out of it" and everything. And I have talked to 2 of my friends about it (one is my bf) and both think i have this thing called dissociation or something. I am really concerned that if i tell anyone or ask about it. They will think i'm crazy. I mean i think i'm crazy myself, but Still. i don't want them to think that. My bf espeshally (sorry about the spelling). He told me to talk to my parents about it. I really Don't want to. I don't have a good relationship with my parents at all. They will judge me, or something. Well i really just don't want to. Please help. What can i do? :(

And if you do tell me I don't knkow you so I won't go around telling people. I'm really sorry about. I know what it feels like when you can't tell anyone. I use to be SUPER nice to people. Then my hormones kicked in and I would cry over nothing for hours. And once this really mean girl was bragging over nothing and it was tiking me off so I ran into the bathroom. I cryed 4ever and then everyone treated me like a baby. I told the mean girl that it was hormones. She said she wouldn't tell anyone. The next day the whole school knew! And your the first person I told. You can go blabber of to people saying it if your mean like that {not saying you are}, but I won't tell any one cuz my hormones r more like crying hormones instead of mean hormones . So I'm not gonna make you tell me but if you really want to talk to some one about it I will be here.

chakra answered Wednesday July 5 2006, 9:56 am: You really need to see your doctor if you think you may have dissociation. Your doctor will refer you to therapy, someone who deals with this kind of mental health problem and most like a therapist who deals with young people and possibly medication to help ease the symptoms.
Unfortunatly, there are alot of people that don't understand mental health problems, i know from experience as i have quite a few of them, but you don't need to tell everyone if you have any, just the people that really need to know.
Go to the doctor with your boyfriend or your friend if you don't feel comfortable telling your parents yet, and see what he says and what he diagnoses you with.
If your parents need to know then ask your doctor if he can explain it to them.
This website tells you more about dissoacoation, it tells you what it is, what the symptoms are, what causes it...ect
Even if you don't have it, you maybe suffering from something else, so it's still best to see your doctor and get the proffessional help you need.
Also, dont be ashamed if you do have this or any other mental illness, i was ashamed of what i have but recently i've got to thinking "why should i be ashamed, it's part of me. and there's millions of other people with mental illnesses, alot lead normal lives".
Dont ever apologise or be ashamed of who you are, it's the arrogant people that dont try and understand and who show no compassion that should be ashamed, not you.
