okay, i can relate. my cartilage piercing got infected, and it doesn't hurt a lot, but it can look gross. don't get super-freaked out. just keep putting neosporin on the part where the earring touches your sking (front and back). keep applying it about 3 times a day for a few weeks, and it will start to get (and look) a whole lot better.

that all is normal and there isnt much you can do. even 2 monthes after getting mine done it would be like that every once and a while. Just keep cleaning it atleast twice a day and i wouldnt change it till all of this has gone a way and it has been atleast 5 weeks. i left mine in until i got to the 6 month point and all of the swelling and red was gone.

the swelling and redness could be caused my you rolling around in your sleep and the earing getting pulled on.. thats what i figured happened to me. just whatever you do dont take it out.. youll really regret it

When I got mine done, it was a little differnt. It hurt laying on it and stuff. Best thing to do is clean it with peroxide twice a day and DO NOT TOUCH IT, if u do make sure your hands are washed. If the swelling doesn't go down in a week of doing that, tell your mom and go to the doctor. Also, if you take out your stud the whole will close up very very fast!!!Good Luck!

swelling is normal, especially if you had your cartilege pierced with a gun. It will stay swollen longer if you sleep on that side, or play with it too. The only thing you can really do is take asprin or put a cool cloth on it, and avoid touching it.

If the pain becomes unbearable at any time, or if there is discharge, then take it out. Right now it doesn't sound infected, this sounds like the normal healing process (it should start to itch, which is also normal). However, if you notice the growth of a keloid- a bump of skin, beside the stud, take it out. Keloids are permanent, and not so pretty. I don't wear mine all the time, and there is no noticeable scar, just the hole where it goes in.

The person above me said you should clean it with peroxide which is a huge huge huge no no. You bleach your hair and clothing with peroxide, you never ever ever want to put it directly on your skin. Keep cleaning it with what the piercer gave you, or use a very gentle cleanser like baby soap.
