Vagina pain

Question Posted Monday June 26 2006, 2:50 pm

Well, i'd like to say that I am not sexually active, never had sex EVER, and that I don't use tampons.

Well, last night i was getting into bet and i was stretching, and there was a pain like, between my vagina and the whole i poop out of. i touched it [not directly], and it hurt everytime i touched it. Now, it doesnt hurt but everynow and then it does. The thing is i cant really look because it hurts too much to bend so i can!

what is it, and how can i stop it WITHOUT going to a doctor?

Okay..someone answered yeast infection. If your only symptom is pain, that's most likely not the problem. Yeast infections don't cause pain when you bend! Of course only a Dr can give you a correct diagnosis. If it didn't hurt before you were stretching most likely you strained a muscle. Try applying ice wrapped in a towel 3 times a day for 20 minutes, and ask your pharmacist about over the counter medicine for a muscle strain. In addition, make sure you are not constipated which can cause similar pain due to the pressure in the colon.

Ouch, sounds a little bit like a yeast infection. A yeast infection tends to cause painful swelling with an itching and/or burning sensation in that area. It makes the whole area turn red and puff up. If the problem is a yeast infection, there are many creams and pills that you can pick up at the drug store that will cure it over the coarse of several days to several weeks.

There's a chance that you could've pulled or torn a muscle, tendon, or some other type of tissue by bending or moving in a way that you are not used to. This is more of an internal pain. It would be cured by cold compresses on the area as well as lots of rest.

Talk to your mom or pharmacist (they get these questions all the time, so don't be shy). Your pharmacist should know the problem. If you have any questions beyond that, or if the condition persists or worsens, you should most definitely see a doctor.

You know, I don't think many people could bend that far without it hurting a bit. Hand mirrors however, are wonderful inventions.

The only way to stop this pain without seeing a doctor would be to cross your fingers and hope it goes away. Who knows, it just might. Or it might get worse. Whatever.

The skin between the vagina and anus, or the penis and anus as the case may be, is called the perineum. There are a lot of small muscles back there and they can tear (and often do tear during childbirth, but can tear at other times too). If these muscles have been torn they will need to be repaired by a doctor or you will continue to be in pain, if they have merely been stretched or pulled the pain should fade with time.

Of course, there are other things that might be causing this pain, tumors and the like. I'm no Doctor. I can't know for sure.
