I weigh about 117 and I am about 5'4, not bad at all. I am completely happy with my body except for my "love handles". They stick out past my underwear, bathing suit, or any low rise jeans. But it's weird because the rest of my body is basically thin. I just want to thin out the sides of my stomach. How should I go about this, and how long do you think it will take?
VixenDark answered Saturday June 24 2006, 4:58 pm: One thing you may want to try is mid rise jeans.
Even if you are thin, love handles form because of wearing lower cut underwear, bikinis, etc, because it puts pressure there (so it doesn't fall). Wearing mid rise clothing will get rid of the appearance of the love handles. [ VixenDark's advice column | Ask VixenDark A Question ]

The reason why 100 situps/ crunches/ side bends/ hail marys or whatever will have absolutely no effect whatsoever on your love handles, is because fat loss cannot be targetted to an area of the human body. Fat "spot reduction" simply is not a reality. Humans lose weight overall or not at all. The order of things is unfortunately not in our hands.
As for how long it takes, that really depends on how your body emphasises the weight loss. You will notice that some people naturally have larger body parts than others. So I cannot say if you need to lose 5 pounds or 20 pounds before your love handles are gone. However, if you are slim already then I doubt it would take very long.
Ceres answered Saturday June 24 2006, 3:34 am: Doing cardio exercises (running, walking at a fast pace, and even dancing) for about twenty to thirty minutes everyday should help. I'd say one to two months should be good but because everyone's bodies and habits are different, I really don't know. Make sure you eat healthily (check your country's food website for suggested servings) and drink a lot of water.
grkadvisor answered Saturday June 24 2006, 3:27 am: lol you shouldnt worry about it but if you are try this do about a 100 sit ups a night not regular ones but sitting up and putting your right elbow on your left knee and your left elbow on your right knee do this every night and in about a month they should be gone
Best Of Luck
