Ok, every summer i have the same sleep scheduel, like 3a.m.-2p.m. but now that i'm getting older and that i have a job i just am tired all the time. By the time i wake up over half the day is gone. So now i see mostly night and thats tiring too. I don't want to go on sleep aids but if i try to fall asleep i can't its just gotta happen naturaly. Any ideas? I rate high for good advice!
This is called Melatonin and it's our body's sleep hormone which keeps us in deep sleep. Very cheap to buy and widely available at all health food stores and best of all...it's all natural. Look for a 2mg dose minimum and follow the instructions on the label for usage. [ MikeCFT's advice column | Ask MikeCFT A Question ]

Moop answered Friday June 23 2006, 1:25 pm: there are two methods I use to get myself out of weird sleeping habits. they're probably both pretty bad, but they're what works for me.
1. set an alarm to wake up very early even though you've gone to bed just a few hours before. you could probably also try waking up an hour earlier every day until you're on a good schedule.
2. don't sleep. declare one night a dance night and just dance the entire night. then stay awake the entirety of the next day. don't plan on doing much the next day because you will be very tired, but that will remain until you get to a sensible bed time.
I definitely suggest trying the first one before the second. the second is more drastic, but you'll get into a schedule faster. [ Moop's advice column | Ask Moop A Question ]
kallan answered Friday June 23 2006, 12:57 pm: I know you said that you don't want to use sleep aids, but you do to your doctor, she/he can give you something that's not habit foriming or anything, but tylenol PM is really good, I use it some nights when I can't sleep, and I'm not addicted to it or anything, I sleep just fine when I don't use it, so just consider that. Hope you get the sleep you need! [ kallan's advice column | Ask kallan A Question ]
mistidew4u answered Friday June 23 2006, 6:03 am: Hey!I have the same exact schedule so I asked my doctor what to do because I was missing school and getting in trouble. She said to try to go to sleep a half an hour or 15 minutes earlier every other day.So say it was monday and you normally go to bed around 3 a.m. try to go to sleep around 2:30 or 2:45 then do that on tuesday too then on Wednesday try to go to bed around 2:00 or 2:15 etc.Make sense?I hope so good luck!!
