finger web piercing

Question Posted Tuesday June 20 2006, 6:54 pm

If your body rejects a piercing, what will it look like? What are the signs of the body rejecting ANY piercing? I have my finger web pierced and it's really dry around the edges and I'm worried my body might be rejecting it!!

The skin peeling could be a sign, redness or swelling might be others, but these are also symptoms of infection. Any concerns about infection should be addressed by a Dr. If you really think it's more of a rejection issue, try a "ring--stud" what ever you have, that contains a completely different type of metal and see if that is better.

Hi. I got my finger web done a couple years ago. Mine did the same thing, so you don't have anything to worry about. Cause it didn't hurt me. Although I did get a surface on my back, and my body rejected it. It has puss and crap running out all the time, kinda like when a piercing gets infected. So, just get some neosportan and keep that on it and in about 2 months it will start looking normal.

wow. i hate to say it- becuase im sure you heard of it- but really- what is the point of having a piercing there? not tryin to be bogus- i had the skin between my wrost and thumb pierced before- but i would think a finger web piercing would jsut hurt. but no, if your body is rejecting it- it will more than likely become infected. if theres pus or anything else around the piercing- then i would take the ring out and clean the area as soon as you can- but if its just dry skin around the hole- then its more than likely just healing- nothing to worry about. hope i helped- and good luck.

If your body is rejecting a piercing it will usually form a protective barrier against the foreign object. For instance, the sight of the piercing may become sore and with a little pus oozing out. It would hurt to touch and if it gets infected it will be slightly warm to the touch too. It might be a good idea to bathe the piercing sight in a saline solution. If you are at all worried then I suggest you go to the chemist and ask to see a Pharmicist who can advise you on what to do. All the best.
