Question Posted Sunday June 18 2006, 7:24 pm

okay this may be kinda confusing, but bear with me, thanks! okay i was wondering when your tanning, is it the amount of sun that hits you that gets you darker or is it how strong the sun is? because yesterday when i was tanning, i thought that how strong the sun hits you would make you darker cause i could like feel like on me.. if you know what i mean? so anyone know? and thanks, ill rate 5's if you helped!

There are many factors that make you darker when you tan. The length of time you are out in the sun but mostly the strength of the UVA and UVB rays from the sun. But of course there is going to have to be a good amount of sun out to get a dark tan. Just remember, even a low SPF will protect you from some harmful rays and you'll still tahn. You don't want to risk getting skin cancer or premature again now do you? haha.

Well of course there has to be sun out for you to get tan. But i think that it is the amount of time.. like at the tanning salon the bulbs are always the same and they put you in for a longer period of time as you go. Hope that helps. =]

It depends how much UV ray is in the sun that day. The more UV rays the hotter and brighter the sun is, so you get more tan.

It's a combination. But not really temperature-wise. It's more like, how close you are to the equator. For example, I live in Pennsylvania and get a very good tan in the summer. However, when I go to Florida for vacation, I get a tan MUCH easier. Either way, you're going to get a tan, however. Hope I helped!
