My "friend" and I were wondering (well, he thinks he knows, but I don't believe him)...
I know a 13f who just had her 5th kid. She wants to keep breast feeding to keep from getting pregnant again. Is this a crock of shit, or does she know something I don't?
advicer answered Monday July 3 2006, 2:21 pm: I highly doubt that she has 5 kids and she's 13. Who starts having sex when their 8? Most 8 year olds don't even know what sex is. I mean, they probably do, but not enough about it do acutally do it.... [ advicer's advice column | Ask advicer A Question ]

Sometimes breastfeeding can suppress ovulation because of the hormones. However, this is not a reliable method of birth control. It doesn't always work to prevent pregnancy and the Dr's would recommend another method. [ Nallie's advice column | Ask Nallie A Question ]

I say that because the majority of women/girls will not breast feed exclusively and that is what it takes. Until the baby is around 6 months old. After that they start eating a little and once those on demand 24/7 feedings end so does its ability to prevent pregnancy.
If this 13 year old has used this method before...it is obvious it didn't work.
