Dieting I really need to lose a couple pounds before the 8th grade formal. I am a 13 year old girl. I have a really flattering dress and its black, but my stomach hangs out...What can I do to lose weight so I look good in it? My formal is on the 16th.

Well, Start by not drinking any caffeine and a LOT of water. Dont eat foods that are high in fats and carbs. And the night before and day of the dance, drink only water and don't eat any salt or meats because they make you bloat.

well since it is only 6 days away just try to drink more water and eat less fatty foods. you can't really loose a whole lot of wait but you might feel healthier :] ]
WOOOOOH sry just noticed that today is the 10th, well you can lose some but dont expect a major difference. Here is some advice
Well you need to do some cardio not just sit ups because sit ups will make your muscles stronger but your fat will probably still be there. Burn off some calories by doing something you like everyday. Maybe dancing or bikeing or swimming. If you have a tread mill or something use it. I use something called a superbelt. It wont make you lose fat but make you sweat more around your stomach, so you lose the extra water weight. Buy one of those and use them with your cardio excerises. There cheap I got mine at the dollar store.
Also What is really good to flatten out your tummy, Pilates it really works buy a tape or join a class. ::But dont froget the cardio::
Try eating 6 small meals a day. It boost your motabalism and keeps your blood suger stable. Maybe eat half of what you normally eat in each meal and add some healthy side dishes like fruits or veggies.
Its not going to be easy to change your life style like that but it will really help keep you healthy and looking good, Plus you will have more energy by that time. So try and keep it up even after the formal.

you would have to lose 1/2 a pound a day, which is hard for 13 year olds. it you do that, basically think about it this way. if you have a 2000 calorie diet, to lose half a pound a day, you would need to lose 3000 calories a day. you can do any activit. what you can do, very easy, is get masking tape, and tape your stomach in. lol, that might sound realllly wierd, but whatever. also, dont forget ladies suck their stomach in when they walk and do stuff, (no, not stereotyping, guys do it too) once you get used to sukin it in, its easy ]
The 16th of this month? I'm sorry but no human alive can lose weight that fast. As much as I would like to help you I would but there's really no way.
But I can help you some on losing weight. Run about 30 minutes a day, cut back on eating (like I'm currently doing), stop drinking soda and only allow yourself to have one once a month.
On the soda thing, it will be really hard at first and that's all you will think about, but please trust me, you wont think about it after a week.
