To lose (1) pound of fat, you need to consume 3,500 calories less than you usually do. You can do this on a weekly, or bi-weekly basis. Do not attempt to burn 3,500 calories daily because this will be very bad for you. Go to this website to find out how many calories you should be consuming daily:
That website will also provide a calorie intake suggestion for fat loss and 'extreme' fat loss.
Next, you need to work on your diet. This means (and you've heard this plenty of times before):
- Instead of a candy bar, eat an apple. If you're not ready to give up candy, try sucking on a sucker instead. Like those small sized tootsie pops. But only eat ONE.
- String cheese is a great snack with plenty of protein in it to keep you full.
- Fiber one cereal with low/non fat milk in the morning is ideal. No poptarts, toaster strudels, muffins, doughnuts or any of that.
- Say good bye to soda! I used to be an avid soda drinker. I'm talking at least 1 can of soda a day. However, I realized that soda really is just carbonated water, sugar, and coloring. Try switching to diet soda. Water with or w/o lemon would be the ideal choice.
- Sometimes, we may think that we are hungry, but it could also be a sign that we're thirsty. Try drinking a tall glass of water before you eat. Also, start off with a small salad with a drizzle of low fat dressing. From there, you can determine whether or not you're as hungry as you thought you were.
- Chew your food slowly. If you eat fast, your body cannot digest all of it at once. Count to about 30 seconds while you're chewing, wait a few seconds, and then take another bite.
- Try to incorporate more fruits and vegetables in your diet.
- Eliminate fast food.
Finally, you have to include exercise.
No, I'm not saying that you have to get out there and run until you're about to burst. This can be as simple as taking your dog for a walk in the morning and in the evening. I hate running, so I won't suggest that. You can power walk as well. You can even buy a jump rope from Walmart and jump rope in your garage.

Starving yourself can damage your body and make it harder for you to lose weight later on in life. The only way to do this, is to exercise, eat right, and drink lots of water. Just a few sit up and a jog around the block everyday can make a huge difference. Cut out the caffeine and junk foods and make sure to add fruits and vegetables to every meal. Not only will this make you lose weight, but it will also make you feel a lot better. [ cuddlemonster's advice column | Ask cuddlemonster A Question ]
HectorJr answered Saturday June 6 2009, 1:39 am: Hey there. What do you mean by being a little anorexic? Anorexia is a mental disorder and is very dangerous, so I hope you haven't gone too far into that.
Anyways, to avoid the repetitious answers given out by many, the 3 part answer to this can be summed up by this: make a lifestyle change. You need to eat healthy, exercise, and sleep. Most people leave the sleep part out. The lifestyle change is a very gradual thing. So to keep it short, there is no quick fix. Everything comes with hard work, discipline, and keeping a clear outlook on what your goals and motivations are. Hopefully this works out for you if you really are at a position where you could or should lose some weight. Believe it or not, a lot of people who try don't really need to or should be putting on weight...but I hope that is not the case for you. Hope that helped and good luck.
