To give my advice some credibility... I have to look at my prom pictures to remember excatly what my girlfriend was wore to senior prom, all I can remember off the top of my head was it was some pale silvery lavender something. What I remember with picture perfect clarity is the way her eyes looked up at me when we were slow dancing. I remember her cute little smile, and they way we ran to the car afterwards because it was raining torrents that night.
Just keep in mind that it's about you and him, not what you guys wear.

now for your hair. well if you have curly hair then you can scrunch, straighten or pull it back. if you have straight hair, you can curl little pieces aeround your head, leave it straight, curl it, and you can make fancy twists around your head.
and th dancing part. when you dance just feel comfortable. if you do line dances dance with your friend. for slow dancign just let him lead. and for the other kinds of music dance when you are comfortable. when you arent, go to the bathroom, get food or drink, or use this time to go take a picture or catch up with someone.

You know the one that is like, pink, yellow, and orange with the flowers? omg it is sooo adorable! wear your hair in a pony tail style french braid with a matching ribbon. You are so pretty hun, that would be perfect! Wear your new white kitten heels from target too, they will accent the dress nicely. Go easy on the make up, a bit of lite pink blush, and a LITTLE mascara, and you cannot forget the lip gloss!
Love ya girl!

Hair: 2 french braids are really cute but if you are going for something a littel more dressy try putting your hair up and hurling the pny tail and than putting it in a clip. And of course you could always straighten or curl your hair and wear it down.
Dancing: Just don't worry about it and have fun..after a while you'll just get used to dancing.
HAVE A TON OF FUN AT THE DANCE!

For makeup, you can go for a coral/light pink color of lipstick/gloss for your lips.
Lightly brush some blush against your cheeks.
Use eyeshadow that matches your dress.
For your hair, flip it upside down, and use gel, and start running your fingers through it, and roughing it up a little, so it is 'teased'.
Then, leave one side of your hair as it is,
and with the other side,
you can clip it to the side with a jeweled clip.

Here are some cute dresses you might like. I'm not exactly sure how fancy the dance is, but you can always dress these kind of things up. (with shoes, accesories, hairstyles ect.)
2)Dancing -- just go with the flow. You can't exactly plan how you are going to dance, just move to the music and don't worry about it. If you're having fun thats all that matters. Also, you can look at how everyone else is dancing, that will give you a clue on how to dance.
3)Hair -- Depending on how much you can spend, you can decide if you want to get your hair done. If it's not a big dance, I wouldn't, it just isn't worth it. If I were you, I would do my hair in flowing curls. Just get a curler and ask a friend, mom, neighbor, someone that can do hair well. You can also do it yourself, if you want. Here are some examples you might like.

Which isn't that bad, but if you still can't afford one of those, try a skirt, maybe. And a dressy top. That'll still work, and look just as cute! As for hair, most girls wear it up for dances. Some curl it and twist it on top into something cute. So try that and maybe add a little pin/clip to make it more attractive. Or, if you want to wear it down, try curls, or straight. As for dancing, just go with it. It doesn't matter if you don't know which dances to do. Just look at everyone else around you, and blend in. Do what they're doing, and you'll be fun. Have fun girl!
