makeup tips

Question Posted Sunday June 4 2006, 11:33 am

first off i'm a 14 year old female. i have blue eyes, and dirty blonde/light brown hair and very fair skin (whenever i buy a foundation i almost always have to buy the second lightest one). okay for like two years now i've been doing the same makeup routine. i start off by putting a cream foundation on over any blemishes to hide them. then i put a powder foundation over my whole skin. then i apply black eyeliner to the inside of my eyes and sometimes i put on eyeshadow. then i wear black mascara and lipgloss. i'm getting tired with this makeup and i think i want something more natural looking. any ideas on what to do?

additional info:
--i have oily skin
--i can't wear anything too pinky because then i look sick! =0

idk if a picture of me would help but here it is...

also if anyone has some good hair ideas that would be really appreciated!

i rate high for anyone who tries!

You should definitely try a dark brown eye shadow near your eyelashes and a light brown eye color up by your eyebrows since you have light colored eyes. Try putting on a natural, fair looking foundation for the base and just a LITTLE bit of blush and a little bit of mascara.
For your hair you should curl it in BIG hot rollers for the natural wavy look.
Good luck :]

i think i might be able to help you because i have very fair and oily skin, too. for foundation i use covergirl clean makup oil control, which has been working really well for me, plus covergirl comes in pretty light shades. then i use maybelline expert wear brush in a really pretty color called pink o' pink which is very natural, but really cute and i don't think it would make you look sick! you really don't need eyeliner. it isn't necessary because you already have really pretty eyes. if you want to use eyeshadow, use a shimmery nude or almost a goldy tone. for mascara, use either a brown or black, depending on which matches your natural eyelash color best, but sometimes brown is a little more natural looking. Then, just put on your favorite lipgloss because you really can't go wrong with that! hope i helped.

Hey there.
You might want to try some neutral, brown, or gold eyeshadow. Also, maybe tone down the black mascara to brown. Same with the eyeliner, the lighter it is, the more natural it looks. Hope I helped! <3, Heather.

Lets start with the foundation. Since you have oily skin and you want to cover up your blemishes, you need to get an oil free foundation. Foundations with oil actually make the blemishes worse and can cause it to get worse. When buying foundation, you need to find a color that fits your skin tone. You don't need a shade darker or ligther, just your color. Actaully, you don't even need foundation. A good concealour (sp) and powder are good enought but if you're going to keep using foundation, get oil free. After applying your foundation, get some powder that's your color and just softly apply it everywhere on your face. It will hold the foundation together. Next take some bronder and just put a bit on your cheeks, chin, nose and forhead. Use a little blush. It doesn't have to be pink. =] For eyes, you should go light. Since you have blue eyes, it's best to use different colors so you can make them pop. Like brown, greens and purple. Your eyeliner is fine so just apply a little less. Mix eye shadow colors on your eyes and put mascara and then you're done. =]
