maturity

Question Posted Wednesday May 31 2006, 7:31 pm

this question is really hard to explain, but just try to understand. when do kids start acting mature? like what grade or age? i don't mean like stop acting like babies, i mean like starting to understand you, "get" more mature jokes, have a more a adult-ish sense of humor, actually help you when your crying or sad. i think i'm mature for my age and i alwayss have to act unlike myself cause all my friends have an immature sense of humor like they think everything is "wrong" like i would say "let me go pick up those balls" and theyre like ew that wrong. and when i'm sad about something they just stare at me and say whats wrong and when i tell em they are like "oh". and i have to make up corny jokes cause they dont get my not immature sense of humor. like the only thing they laugh at is CORNY, IMMATURE, jokes. i feel stupid when i try to be "mature" cause my friend was sad cause her other friends are making fun of her and i'm just like "don't worry someday you will get true friends that will be with you no matter what" and shes like "oh" WHEN WILL I BE ABLE TO BE MATURE!!!!!!!

i know how it feels to be more mature than the group of people you're around. everybody's age of maturity varies, unfortunately... and it sucks to be the one ahead of your friends.

i know it's hard to keep friends that aren't like you, but i wouldn't change yourself for other people to accept you. who knows, maybe by acting like yourself, you can help some of them grow and mature too. you never know!

hope i helped and good luck.

People mature at different ages. Most people mature around The beggining of high school but theres always that percent og highschoolers that are really immature. Some people will gradaute and still be very immature. I think its better to mature then Immature. When your friends say that stuff just ignore it.

Ugh I know what you mean i hate when people act stupid and say stupid things like what you said about the balls i mean really and like went i was trying to draw a picture of an elephant,my friend told me to stop because it looked wrong,i have to admit though sometimes some immature jokes are funny but not all the time they can get annoying after awhile.Everyone pretty much matures at different rates like for me,i think i started to become mature in 7th grade.Boys i think will never really become mature their just born to be perverted lol but theres a rare few who are actually mature guys and dont think negative about things all the time.Girls i think tend to mature around 8th or 9th grade, its been proven that girls mature faster then boys. But dont worry, even will eventually mature alot at some point and catch up to you its only a matter of time ; ]

People mature at different rates. It basically happens when they realized that jokes about genetalia really aren't that funny and when they start to care about people other than themselves. I personally started "maturing" about 9th grade.
