On a related note, that needs to be mentioned. I am not sure how long ago you had the dog with the Parvovirus, but generally it is recomeded that you wait one year to get another dog. The canine version of this virus is shed from an infected animal, and can survive around your home for 6-12 months.

If a year or more has passed, I would agree with some of the other answers here. Prove to your mother that you have a strong resolve. Do your chorse before they are asked. Do research online about puppy / dog health and print off the pages and put them in a notebook. Be creative, things like this will calm your mothers worry.

And please DO NOT sneak the dog into your home, and hide it in your room. It would be impossible to hide for more than a few hours, and then will put the puppy (and you) in a very awkward situation.

Good luck,

Wow, your family doesn't have a very good history with dogs. I can understand your Mom's apprehension. Don't ask again for a long time. Show your Mom you are responsible in other ways like helping around the house, getting good grades etc. Once you have accomplished the responsibility part then ask again.

well i think that you shouldn't get one because your obviously not capable of taking care of a living creature.

start helping out ALOT more than usual. show your mom that you are responsible and taht you have grown up since your last dogs. also, take time to do some research about the dog you want and so on and so forth. that will show her you are really serious. also, if you can, offer to pay for part of the expense. this will also show her how serious you are. good luck!
hope i helped!!

Don't tell your mom, show your mom that you can handle the responsibility. Clean your room, do some extra chores without being asked, stuff like that. I know this might sound lame, but try buying a plant and take care of it (watering it ect.) or buying a goldfish. When your mom sees how responsible you are, maybe she'll cave and let you get a dog. Hope this helps and good luck.
