ok so im 14/f n i've never used a tampon before. So today i thought I'd try one and i totally chickened out. It couldn't have gone any worse. I would put it in, but then it would start to hurt so i'd pull it right out. Finally i just gave up.Should i put vaseline on the tip of it? Help please!! <33
bound_heart answered Saturday May 20 2006, 11:02 pm: The first few times I tried using tampons it was uncomfortable, and I was 32 at the time! It shouldn't hurt, though. There are tampons made specifically for teens (look for "slimfit"). Follow the directions as well as you can. Don't use any sort of lubrication (vaseline included!) in trying to get it in. Any sort of lube you would use could break down the absorbancy of the tampon.
Remember the old adage, "if it don't fit, don't force it!"
itsz_JESS answered Friday May 19 2006, 6:30 pm: the first time i tried it, it hurt because i put it in wrong. you may have probably put it in wrong but if thats not it, then try a smaller sized tampon or it just may that your nervous. and it will probably hurt more if you dont have your period because its dry and when you pull it out it would hurt.. but if you are on your period and it still hurts, just try a smaller sized tampon.. good luck! KELLY_ELIZABETH answered Friday May 19 2006, 5:49 pm: its completely natural for it to hurt you at first. i know it sounds wierd. but it is! supposidly vaseline can cause you to get infections [ although its really easy when you have it ] id reccomend using Ky jelly instead. once you get it right, you shouldnt be able to really tell its in there. if you have questions about putting it in - then go to this site [ [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) ] and scroll down to "How do you insert a tampon?" . sorry that it shows some pictures - but its helpful and its good. you shouldnt be scared - all girls go through it. and just remember how mad you were that you chickened out and make it even more of a reason for you to get it right. good luckk, ohh and remember practice makes perfect.
snowbird answered Friday May 19 2006, 5:45 pm: It takes some practice before you get it right. Make sure to get in a good position and aim tword your lower back. When its in properly you wont even notice its there. Yes, a little vaseline will help. Just relaxe. Also the easy glide tampons work much better than the flushable cardboard ones. babiigirl answered Friday May 19 2006, 5:36 pm: Itll take a few tries before you can really get used to them. Im not to sure about vaseline. But you can put K-y jelly on the tampon. Its a lubrication next to the condoms.
