It could be because you are straining when you are using the bathroom.Or because your bowel movements are not soft enough. You can buy pills called stool softners and that should help if this is the problem. If this continues you should consult a doctor.

The brighter red the colour the nearer to the exit it started from. It sounds as if you have either been constipated and have torn yourself straining, or you don't have enough fibre/water in your diet so your motions are not passing as well as they should or you have haemorrhoids, which are swollen veins in the anus, and when you go to the toilet the pressure of your motions causes them to break.
If there is not a lot of blood and it stays bright red, try eating more fibre, get some haemorroid cream from your pharmacy, drink plenty of water and try not to strain.
If there is a lot of blood, or it changes to a darker red/black, or if you are really concerned, go and see your doctor, who will either reassure you there is nothing to worry about or arrange some tests to investigate.
Either way, with any health issues that concern you, you should always check it out with a doctor.
Good luck.

Unless it's something you ate, which I highly doubt, it can't be a good, or natural, thing. Please consult a doctor immediately.

If this has happened more than just once, see a doctor. Don't worry yet, but bleeding there is a sign of a lot of serious problems, so don't wait. See one immediately.

I advise you to go and see your doctor. It may be embarassing but it'll be much better if you get yourself properly checked out.
