Don't worry, I know what it is because I had the exact same problem for around a year after I first started having sex.

What you are suffering from is what they call 'Honeymoon Cystitis'. First of all, you need to know there are two different kinds of cystitis. There's the bladder infection, where you need anti-biotics or you risk kidney infection and then there's Honeymoon Cystitis. This is quite common in girls who are having sex for the first time.

Basically, it is caused when sex makes you a little tender inside and it irritates your bladder. Don't worry, it doesn't cause any long term effects because it isn't an infection. It's kind of like having a bruise on your bladder and because it is irritated, it makes you need to go to the loo a lot.

Now, your body can recover from it naturally but if it is really bad and it hurts a lot when you wee, you should see your doctor. Although it isn't strictly speaking an infection, anti-biotics do take the pain away. It sounds very odd but because I suffered from it constantly for around 3 months, my Doctor gave me the anti-biotics on repeat prescription. Every time I had sex, I took one tablet straight after and I had no symptoms after that! I also found drinking a lot of water made it worse, which is common because it isn't an infection.

Please don't worry. You're not ill with anything but I do think you should see your doctor if it isn't better after a couple of days because anti-biotics will at least calm the pain. If you do see your doctor, tell him when you had sex or he won't be able to make an accurate diagnosis.

Just as a side note, I'm a little distressed to hear you are having sex at just 14 years old. I don't want to preach but it is illegal and not a good idea because you are too young to be having to deal with all of this stuff. You shouldn't have to worry about it for a couple of years yet. Sex is good fun and all but it's very stressful and you have enough to worry about at 14 without fears of getting pregnant or contracting infection or disease. Please, think twice before having sex again.

If you are dehydrated you will go less. The one 8 second thing is enough to get you pregnant. It takes one tiny sperm to fertilize an egg and there are millions in one drop of semen. He may not even be aware that the drop of semen was there.

Go to the Dr. He/she will most likely want to rule out pregnancy first, and a urinary tract infection second.

Sex without a condom is always dangerous. Whether it be for 8 seconds, 1 second, or 2 hours. Never ever do it again. Teenage boys don't have that much control over themselves no matter what they say. You can get pregnant from pre-ejaculatory fluid (precum) and he very well could have ejaculated without knowing. There is also a large risk of getting an STD when you don't use a condom. Your boyfriend could very well have an STD and not know about it.

Since you got your period it's VERY unlikely that you are pregnant. If you are really worried about it, take a home pregnancy test in a week. It will not give accurate results until 2 weeks after you had sex.

Your need to urinate could be the result of having sex or your period. Don't worry about what you drink, just do what you normally would without changing anything. If it doesn't go away in a few days, gets worse, or starts to hurt, it would be a very good idea to see a doctor.

Having sex comes with many consequences and responsibilities. Do not disregard them or you could end up in big trouble. Too embarassed to ask your parents to take you to the doctor? Well, you should have thought about that before having sex, especially unprotected. It's always better to be embarassed than to risk your health. Good luck.

k heres the 1% chance of something bad happening: he could have cum on him from the past thats still alive. but thats VERY unlikely.

and heres whats most likely happening: when your stressed out or have sex for the first time, your period can be late and weird things can happen to your body. i think your just stressed because coldsores, late period, and peeing a lot are all signs of stress. so dont worry, just CALM DOWN lol and eeverything will go back to normal. your period can be up to TWO WEEKS late from stress, but if its any more than that, you should talk to your doctor in private. but im almost sure your fine hunnie, dont worry.

Rebekah answered Monday May 8 2006, 8:48 pm:
your period is probably off, simply because your body was new to sex, it can mess up your cycle a bit even if you aren't pregnant. About the frequent urinating, if it persists for a while, then I would go to the doc. just to be sure that you don't have an infection or something.
