What is the maximum time limit to be in the tanning beds? If i go tanning for 15 minutes every day, how long will it take for me to get bronzed? (my skin is pale) When you get the spray on tan, do the people spray you or does a machine do it??
HighlandAmy answered Saturday May 27 2006, 11:11 pm: WHOA NELLY!!! Listen to me my fair-skined-sister ~ DO NOT GO INTO A TANNING BED FOR 15 MIN! You will come out burnt to a purple crisp! We light skined ladies should generally begin our tanning treatments with 5 min sessions 3 times a week (with at LEAST one day between tannings.) If two days after you go you are NOT AT ALL pink, then it's okay to go again.
After two weeks of 5 min tanning, you can up it to 8 min (still following the "No tanning if you are pink" rule), and the next week up to 12, then 15. Once you have reached your desired level borzed-godesshood weekly treatments of 15-20 min should be all you need.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to protect your eyes while you are in a tanning bed. GOOD GOGGLES ARE A MUST!!!

You will need to use some kind of lotion to help you get tanner faster & hydrate your skin. If your a first time "tanner" then you'll want to do about 10 minutes a day for a few days so you don't get "sun~burnt". It took me 2 weeks of tanning and I was really dark and naturally I'm a pale complexion. The spray tans from what I'm told cost about $70.00 and last a maxium of 1-2 months. You get naked and stand in a small room and a fine mist comes out and coats your body. [ kristen22's advice column | Ask kristen22 A Question ]
loves2shop86 answered Sunday May 7 2006, 11:53 pm: hey! ok first of all, the time you are allowed depends on the tanning beds and how strong the bulbs are. once you pick the place where you want to go, you can ask them what they recommend for a first time, and what is the maximum they allow. i go to the stand up tanning booths at hollywood tans, and the maximum allowed on those is 11 minutes... and when i went in for the first time i went for 6 minutes!
if you want a nice looking tan, then you CANNOT be going tanning every single day! especially if your skin is pale! i made this mistake a month ago, and went every day... needless to say i looked like a lobster and i was in so much pain i couldn't even sleep. yes eventually the redness turned into a tan... but the skin was so dead, it peeled away! so go 2 times in a row for a short time, then continue to increase the time overtime and start going every other day until you get a tan. after that you can go like every 3 or 4 days to maintain it. also, if you want you can use a little bit of sunless tanner (i use loreal sublime bronze) to even out your tan (your legs may be lighter than the rest of your skin) and make your skin look darker you can.
LoveNJstyle answered Sunday May 7 2006, 9:38 pm: i don't think 15 minutes a day would be healthy... especially if you are pale. i think 3 times a week is a lot. that's all i know... i don't want to give you any false info. <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
