recently my friend had a bonfire with about 17 ppl. and we were all drinking. her dad knew about it though. well the cops came and her dad got a ticket for minors in possession of alcohol. is there an estimate on how much it will be for the ticket?

Each state will be different on this. The fines are usually "up to" a certain amount. The bottom line is the fine will be what the judge determines. I imagine that the court system sees something like this as very serious in nature and will probably give the max fine.

Even though you say the charge given to the father was "Minors in possession" I think that is the charge that could be given to the minors.

It is most likely "Providing a minor with alcohol" If he provided 17 minors alcohol he could get one count for each. This is only an educated guess, but the fine could be $2,000-$3,000 dollars and include jail time.

Hey, I know someone who has been in this same predicamen and this is what happened with the whole M.I.P situation plus, she had to do like community service and stuff. But anywho....

Possession of Alcohol by a Minor is now $400.00 for the first offense, $600.00 for the second offense, and a Class B misdemeanor for the third offense.

A driver's license can be suspended for 30 days on the first MIP. Driving with a Suspended DL is a Class B misdemeanor with further loss of driver’s license.
