Belly Button Ring?

Question Posted Sunday April 30 2006, 11:18 am

If I get my belly button pierced soon, how long do I have to wait to be able to go in the ocean and a swimming pool for long periods of time? Summer is commming soon but I want my belly button peirced, BUT not if I can't go swimming! Also, how long does it take for your belly button to completley heal after you get it peirced? DO you suggest getting your belly button pierced or nah? Thanks for the advice!

I've got mine done, and I recommend it. It should be ok to go in after a couple of weeks as long as you clean it properly afterwards. Mine took about a year to heal completly, but I still went swimming and stuff soon after and it healed just fine.

I was told to avoid chlorine and salt water for 2-3 weeks when I had my lip done, but I imagine the time period is longer for belly buttons, as they'd be directly in the water.

[Link](Mouse over link to see full location) has tonnes of personal piercing experiences, and you'll be able to find out about shops in your city.

the only advice i want to give you is that i suggest you get it peirced during the winter. if u get it pierced now and it's the summer you will be wearing bathing suits and tanning and all that with your belly showing, and if you just got it pierced it will be red and possibly infected. and the redness dissappears within like 2-3 months. thats all i really know. im not sure if your not allowed to swim or not. well, i tried.
